Create & Take: Out on the Open Sea

Last week's Create & Take was a nautical themed card using the new Shipmates die set from Emily Atherton's collection for Sizzix.  A great card for the men in our lives and worked brilliantly with the Swirling Stitches die from memory Box, showing how you could use this die to illustrate waves in the sea.

Let's get started:-

Products Used:

Bazzill Basics Mylar Holographic Cardstock
White String

Instructions:

1. Cut Circus paper to fit the square card base and stick in place.

2. Cut a piece of Ocean blue cardstock and die cut the Swirling Stitches onto it.

3. Die cut the boat from Kraft, White and Nautical Blue cardstock and then cut and assemble as shown.

4. Die cut the anchor from a piece of Mylar cardstock and thread onto the string. Wrap the string around the Ocean blue cardstock and stick to the back with a piece of tape.

5. Die cut clouds from white cardstock.

6. Assemble the card as shown above.

Join us this Friday for Create & Take between 10am - 12pm. This week's card will be a Spring theme.

Create & Take: Mine's A Pint!

Happy Monday bloggers! The sun is shining here in Surrey and we hope it is set to continue. Nothing beats a nice sunny day to get you in the creative frame of mind. Today we are going to share with you last Friday's Create & Take - something for the men in our lives! This card is great for giving money or gift cards as it uses the Die-namics Gift Card Grooves die. So let's get started....

Products Used:

Square Kraft Card Blank

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of Nightmist cardstock 13cm x 13cm and adhere to the card blank.

2. Cut a piece of Statement Geo cardstock 12.5cm x 12.5cm. Add a little distress ink around the edges and adhere to the card.

3. Cut a piece of Kraft cardstock 10.5cm x 9.5cm and add a little distress ink around the edges. Die cut one of the gift card groove slots from the top of the kraft card.

4. Stamp the image onto the kraft cardstock using black ink and colour the image with watercolour pencils.

5. Use 3D foam pads to stick the image to the card. Make sure you don't place any foam pads down the center of the card otherwise the money/gift card will not slot into place.

6. Cut a piece of Haley cardstock 12cm x 1.5cm and add a little distress ink around the edges. Make a fishtail cut at one end and stamp 'Mine's A Pint!'.

7. Adhere to the bottom of the gift card cardstock.

The Gift Card Grooves die is so versatile that you could use this concept on many different cards and as someone who sends money in birthday cards a lot I think this is a fantastic creative idea!

Also don't forget about our Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 12th December - which will be full of sparkly Christmas jumpers, a festive Create & Take, and lots of Christmassy treats!

But for today let's sum up last week's Create & Take which featured the Marianne Gentlemen's Tie die. 8. Finish by adding two black nailheads to the sentiment strip at the bottom.

This card would also be ideal for Father's Day just by simply changing the sentiment at the bottom.

We hope this has kick started your creativity for the week and we will be back with a few festive ideas that some of us have made at Crafts U Love this week!

Nephews Birthday

I made this card for my nephews 20th Birthday. I find it so hard to make mens cards don't you? I found this stamp which I bought about 10 years ago and I thought it still looks quite good. I also used the Basic Grey 6" x 6" Archaic paper pad.
