Spring Demo Event

Well this weekend has definitely seen the start of Spring, with the clocks moving forward and more importantly our Spring Demo Event. The weather was on our side on Saturday with beautiful sunshine - a perfect day to be inspired and learn some new crafting techniques!. For those of you who did manage to come by and see us, we hope you all had a fantastic day, enjoying all the demos and also all the cake in the Vintage Tea Room! If you weren't able to make the demo event then fear not as we have captured the day in photos and a brief recap as to what products and techniques were being demoed at the event. So read on........

First up...... Sue M

If vintage is your thing, you definitely would have not wanted to miss Sue M's demo, using Wendy Vecchi embossing pastes and Archival ink pads. Sue's examples show you how you can use these products beyond cardmaking and other paper projects and venture out into 3D home decor projects, such as decorating a lampshade, canvas board or hanging decoration. These embossing pastes work great on lots of different materials and the Archival ink pads hold their colour on many different textures.

Demonstrator No. 2 - Charry Wijers

The chalkboard theme is all the range at the moment and Charry put together some excellent examples with the new Penny Black Chalkboard Stamps, Zig Memory System Chalk Pens and Fancy Pants Chalkboard tape. These products are very versatile to use in cardmaking, scrapbooking, party decorations, even labels for drawers and cupboards at home. Charry's examples show how you can enhance the stamped images using a few extra colours to highlight around the chalk letters/image.

Demonstrator No. 3 - Stamping Caz

Looking to make a card thats a bit more special, something to stand out from the ordinary? Then take a look at these examples from Stamping Caz, using new Pop It Ups dies by Karen Burniston from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Create a lovely scene inside the card, building up different layers and colours and make it a card that a loved one will want to hold onto forever. Spring was definitely in the air at Caz's table with beautiful flower decorations which were made using the We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board and also the Flower Stem Kit. These will look great as a decoration around the home or at a table at a Spring party!

Demonstrator No. 4 - Karen Maccoy

Karen's table got everyone in the mood for Easter with her gorgeous Easter cards and decorations. The favourite example has got to be the mini bauble decoration with the little Easter scene inside, a perfect alternative to an Easter card and something that can come out year after year. Karen used a range of products on her examples including the new bunny die cuts from Poppystamps, new Memory Box stencils and die cuts and the new Tim Holtz Spritzer tool. This tool works amazing with stencils, creating a glorious air brush finish.

Demonstrator No. 5 - Alex Kamann

'Stylish' and 'Chic' are the words for Alex's cards and tags using the new Prima Doll Stamps and die cuts. Perfect for creating cards for those fashionistas in our lives and using the Copic pens to colour these images can create some wonderful shading and detailed effects.

Demonstrator No. 6 - Kim Fee

Perfect for Spring, these new co-ordinating stamps and die cuts from Paper Smooches can be used to create beautiful cards for the season from Mother's Day to Easter and birthdays/ anniversaries in between. Use the die cuts to make some amazing box cards with flowers popping out from the middle and add an appropriate sentiment from the Penny Black Special Wishes stamp set. Kim also demoed some fantastic heat embossing techniques with these products.

Wow, so that sums up all the amazing demos from Saturday. So I hope you're feeling inspired and ready to craft this Spring. I will leave you with a photo from the Vintage Tea Room - showing you a glimpse into the cake delights that were available on the day with all proceeds from the cake sales going to St Catherine's Hospice.

Look forward to seeing you all soon, look out for upcoming dates for demo days and Birthday events. Stay updated with us on our Facebook and Pinterest page!
